The Oregon Coast History Center takes visitors back to a time when the coast was an untamed place, when beaches were the only highways and tall ships moved majestically along the coastline. Located in the 1895 Burrows House, it displays an array of artifacts and exhibits hearkening back to this time, including a sturdy ship's wheel, woven Native American baskets, and other treasures. It lies in the center of Newport, a few blocks north of the Yaquina Bay State Recreation Area and less than two miles from the Oregon Coast Aquarium.
Open Summer: Tue. - Sun. 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; Winter: Tue. - Sun. 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
